One Afternoon (Rose/Kota)

Rose was very much calm she had changed going back to training mode this was just another test of strength and brains. Rose used her head literally slinging it back hitting the weasel in the nose giving her room to move she bite his grubby disgusting hand no telling where it had been Rose then rolled away and was at the side of Kota. "You done messed up now you retarded trio" Rose snarled. She used her thumb and lifted a button to a pouch on her side. She reached her hand into the bag and she pulled out a long black whip with an insignia of a white viper going all the way to the end opening with a snake head at the end like a deadly strike. Rose got in a strange stance and turned her whip letting it go across the edge of the water which would make the impact sting alot more and rip t hrough flesh tearing it away. Rose came forward not wanting to sling her whip and hit Kota. After all the weasel and other vermin were looking at the whip. "Blimey mates its the freakin Viper" the leader said. "It is her if we kill er' and get a large amount of gold off er' body" the leader said giving her a crazy gleam then they spread out circling leaving their friend to wallow on the ground like his eyes were boiling out his head. Rose looked at Kota and smiled "if anything happens to me Kota just run ok" she said turning back to them. Her eyes were sharp like a hawks then she began moving her whip like the movement of a snake. They struck first Rose catching that one across the neck severing skin showing clearly the jugglar "aw to shallow sorry boys out of practice" she said. "Ow that urt" the leader said holding his bleeding neck. Rose struck out again killing one with a strike to the temple the whip had more than seven pounds of force. "Got to try harder than that" she growled out.

Kota snorted. Did she honestly think if she died or got hurt he would just run? She seriously misjudged his insane need to help anyone even if it cost him his own life. Oh well. Kota dropped into a defensive stance and lunged forward, grabbing the dagger from the ground. Backpedaling quickly, Kota kept his back to the tree, but was taken by surprise by the stout lunging toward him with a dagger drawn. Kota growled and lashed out, swiping his own blade in an arch and slicing the stout's arm making it recoil. The stout snarled curses at Kota but he didn't hear them, simply focused on keeping the stout away from Rose.

He dropped into a defensive stance as Rose lashed out with her whip at the leader of the trio. Again the ratty looking stout lunged at him, dagger held out. Kota went to meet the lunge. The stout he had hit with his poison powder however, rolled into his paws making him trip. The upright stout took advantage of the stumble and Kota wasn't sure what happened next. He was only aware of falling and hitting the ground, a sharp burning in his side.

The wind was gone from his lungs, let out in a sharp gasp that once let out, seemed to prevent him from drawing breath a second time. He jerked slightly, paws moving shakily, eyes staring at nothing as he tried to find what the stout had done. His paw touched the hilt of the dagger, blade buried in his side. The mere shift of the metal made him gasp again, struggling to breathe in. Everything was hazy, rippling strangely.

Struggling to not fall into the dark abyss at the edge of his vision, Kota saw the stout looming over him, shadow falling over him like death's wing. He could distinctly see the pointed fangs in the stout's mouth, a glinting knife raised and catching the sunlight. All he could do was stare, not move, not breathe, nothing.

Rose whipped them not paying attention to behind her. Though the smell of blood caught her nose. She turned her head eyes going wide to see Kota. "Kota!" she yelled only to be punched knocking her down. The leader straddled her hands going around her neck strangling thank god she was flexible. She looked at him a deadly gleam in her eyes. Rose got her legs untwined then lifted them snaking them around his neck hearing the shattering pop as head became detached from body. Rose coughed holding her throat and got up more along the lines of staggered. She struck out of the weasel who stabbed Kota knocking him away. She dropped to her knees beside Kota looking at him her hand going to his face. "Kota please stay with me" she said. She ripped part of her dress pulling the knife out and pressing firmly on his wound. "Please dont leave me Kota stay with me" she said keeping an eye on the two and she growled a warning her hackles rose waiting for them using her eyes to say you want to end up like them bring it on.

Kota was trapped in the hazy, feeling heavy but floating at the same time. His mind struggled against the haze, trying to get himself to move. Treat the wound. It was harder to do when it was his own wound. The haze, however, was merciful and Kota only realized that when it was gone. The blade slid from his side with one solid pull making him recoil and howl in pain as blood began to soak his side. He choked on his own pained cry, paw jerking to cover the wound, pushing down on a cloth already there. The pain intensified and the fire spread but it had to be done, his mind could process that much. He needed that pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding, the pain to tell him he was alive.

Somebody was talking but he couldn't understand it. He moved his head to the side, trying to find who was talking. He had to tell them. Had to hurry. "C...camile...." He choked on the word, breathing pained. "Re...red flo...lowers..." Kota's face twisted in a pained expression, limbs feeling heavy and his head feeling like it was floating. The camile would help his blood to clot if he chewed it, something in the plant stimulated blood clotting, it would thicken his blood but he didn't know if there was any around.

His head moved but his eyes were getting cloudy. He couldn't tell one plant from the other, tree from ground, sky from treetops. The paw not pressing down on his side, moved jerkily to the pouch at his hip, fumbling with the clasp. There were poppy seeds in it to make him sleep, to help the pain but in his hazy mind state he couldn't make the clasp move. With a low whine of frustration, Kota let his paw go limp, breathing heavily and staring at the sky just over Rose's head.

Rose was running out of time he wouldnt last much longer. He was mumbling to himself. She shook her head getting closer hearing the words 'camile and red flower' Rose looked around. She remembered something about that flower from her sister who had some in the herb garden for clotting and now Rose remembered what it looked like. Pale eyes began to look around "Kota hold pressure here" she said moving his hand pressing it on his wound. she got up then blood on her. She moved quickly looking under and through things. There it was in front of an oak that was beside the creek. Rose snipped it with a careful tip of her claw. Why did he have to stabbed he was to nice. Rose back to him sticking the flower in her mouth chewing it for him knowing he was to weak to chew from blood loss she opened his mouth and practically kissed him letting all the juices and flower particles on go in his mouth. She rubbed his throat to help him swallow the stuff soon it would go into effect he was still hanging on barely. "Kota open your eyes" she said hoping he would listen she ripped another piece of her skirt pressing it to his wound seeeing immediatly the flow lessen. She stroked his face she would have to stitch him up the old fashioned way.

When Rose left him, Kota didn't notice one bit. His consciousness was slipping, blood pooling around his body. The stench of it clogged his nose but he was too far out of it to really notice. His head would move from side to side, a fine trembling running down his spine. Still, his healer's mind had just enough control to keep convincing him that going to sleep wasn't a good idea. Camile. Rose would have it soon. Hopefully. Soon however, didn't seem to come fast enough. Kota's paw on his side slipped and went limp, eyes closing as he slipped into the darkness.

It seemed like his eyes had barely closed when a distant voice was calling. He couldn't hear the exact words but something told him it was important. His head turned, paws twitching slightly as the healer fought his way to consciousness. Pain burned in his side making him want to go back into the painless abyss until the voice called again. It was important...it had to be...nobody called him unless it was important. Kota groaned, blinking blearily only to see a mishappen white shape looming over him. Closing his eyes as the world whirled out of control, Kota tried not to vomit. He felt lightheaded and sick, ugly burning pain raging like a wildfire in his side. Breathing made him ache but he didn't dare stop.

His paw wandered to his satchel again, fumbling with the clasp to get to the poppy seeds he kept in it. This time the clasp came open and he pushed his paw inside, fumbling for a small glass bottle of the seeds. He pulled it out only to find his paws shaking too much to hold on to it. The bottle fell from his grasp, clinking softly as it hit the ground, his paw falling limply at his side.

Kota groaned again as the pain in his side spiked making him flinch and the pain grow worse. He blinked, trying to convince his eyes to stay open but could barely manage a squint so he simply let his eyes drift closed again.

Rose wanted to really slap him but thought better of it he was in enough pain. She stroked his head using her hand to open his eyes letting the sun hit his pupils "Kota stay with me dont go to sleep" she said. She saw his hand clumsy from loss of blood pull out a vial of some sort. Rose picked it up and examined it he needed this but he couldnt function well. Rose pulled him up putting an arm behind him supporting his head letting the poppy seeds go into his "chew" she said hoping to god he would he didnt even look good for a wolf he was pail. "Im here Kota just relax" she said softly stroking his head holding him to her with her free hand she then began making a small fire just enough to heat up a blade and make it glow then she we burn his wound close. She began looking through her pouch producing a vial of her own a flower called Self Heal all of is was an antibiotic which could heal wounds, ulcers, sores,internal bleeding, and when drank with something could heal oedema, nephritis, scrofula and goitre. She sighed and began chewing the plant while the dagger heated. "Just relax Kota" she said chewing the plant and finally removing it from her mouth a big green blob smearing it in his wound it was a natural antibiotic. She would wait an hour so the antibiotic could take its course.
