The day was overcast with the scent of rain hanging heavily on the breeze. Though the weather was warm, many beasts had scurried inside to avoid the oncoming storm. Training fields were deserted and targets were left untouched. A few archers passed Aryela as they headed inside to put their bows away. The she-wolf watched them go and gave a small smile. Well, at least the training grounds would be mostly empty, though it would nice to have someone to work with or at least challenge. The Twilight General shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly and approached the target field.
Over the last month or so, she had spent most of her time going through paperwork stashed in the gatehouse of the Twilight Trackers. The former General had left it a frightful mess; the papers were intermixed with tribal marks that Aryela couldn't read. It had taken her the better half of the month just trying to translate the odd notes. Oh well, at least the ledger and such were organized now.
Aryela stretched out her arms and began to exercise her body so she wouldn't cramp her muscles. She was dressed in a simple green tunic with a black vest over the comfortable cloth. Ebony trews adorned her legs while matching gloves hugged her arms. She had tied her medium-length headfur in a tight braid to keep it out of her way. Her shorter bangs brushed her scarred cheek as the wind tugged it from the braid.
After a few more stretches, Aryela pulled her bow from her back strap and plucked a practice arrow from her quiver. The end had a tiny rubber tip on it so if the arrow went astray, it wouldn't hurt a bystander too badly. It had been years since she struck someone by accident, but she didn't want to take any chances. The she-wolf put her arrow to the bow, aimed, and fired. The arrow struck short of the bullseye, causing Aryela to wrinkle her nose slightly. Hm, she was a bit out of practice. With a roll of her shoulders, Aryela planted herself in another position and continued training.
ooc: for anyone.
